Simple question:
16:9 digital widescreen... closer to 1.66:1, 1.77:1 or 1.85:1?

According to my calculations, 1.66:1 is equivalent to 14.95:9 , 1.77:1 is equivalent to 15.93:9 and 1.85:1 is equivalent to 16.65:9. So to answer your question, 1.77 is closest to 16:9 and opting for 1.77:1 would minimise cropping.

16x9 is 1.78:1
Use Widescreen with care...

Someone was trying to explain to me about the 14:9 ratio... I got a bit confused with it all!
It's meant to be a ratio that the BBC introduced to display widescreen pictures on 4:3 screens.
anyone else heard about 14:9?
